Are You Riding Shotgun to Your Fear?

Performance Tip of the Week

I read this quote the other day…

“Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else more important than fear.” – Tony Robbins

I was left wondering how many people put their fear in the position of highest importance over other things like

  • happiness
  • love
  • health
  • success
  • relationship…

We all experience fear.

But to what extent are you allowing fear to rule your decision making process?

It’s one thing if fear causes you to stop for a moment to reflect, reassess, or redirect.  It’s a completely different matter if fear is dragging you by the nose through life, or keeping you glued to one spot, leaving you with the misconception that there’s no way out of your circumstances — because there always is.

So as you reflect on the quote above, as I did this week, consider the role and importance you are assigning to fear in your business and life, and how giving it even the smallest amount of your attention and energy is preventing you from leading the life you were born to live.  It’s your choice — either keep fear shackled to your ankles like a lead weight, or take control of your thoughts and create the key to your freedom.

If you don’t know where to begin, allow me to guide you.  Don’t squander another precious day, when you could be running freely toward the life you’ve always wanted.

Fear RULED my life for 40 years–Fear of rejection. However, once I had had enough and decided to seriously attack the problem, I solved it by working on those things which would improve my self-esteem. It was a long, hard process but I no longer live to please others. I care, but am not ruled by it.

Randy, Congratulations pushing past your fear! Better late than never is always my motto. 🙂 Fear is ever present — we just need to decide how we will deal with it on a given day. Thanks for sharing!!
