“The difference between try and triumph is a little umph.” – Unknown
How have you been measuring up in the umph department lately? I understand that things are tough right now, but that’s what makes it even more important to dig a bit deeper to go that extra mile.
Even when you are feeling completely tapped out (emotionally, physically, mentally, financially) you’ve got to believe that you have just a little bit more to give, and amazingly it materializes.
Most of what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur boils down to your “umph” factor when the going gets tough. Because those who are 100% committed to the process of entrepreneurship are the tough ones who keep on going. So tap into your umph or don’t. The choice is yours for the taking…that is, if triumph is what you truly seek.

Hi there.
I love this post. I have always loathed excuses and I do not see any good from them, but sometimes I do find myself falling into the trap of becoming more comfortable with an excuse instead of going for the truth even if it means that I am not really wanting to go down the long and sometimes more difficult path. However, in the end I have learned that to get what you want, crave, and need in your life you must sacrifice things in your life sometimes, but in the end the sacrifice will be worth so much more to you and others around you!
Thanks Jennifer! So glad to know this post was meaningful for you! You are correct, that life is about making choices. You have to decide how badly you want something, and be willing to push that extra bit to make it happen. That’s what separates good from great. 🙂 Have a great day and thanks for sharing your comment!
Thanks for posting this Shannon. Umph…yes, that is exactly what our inner souls have and we have to make sure they come up front and energize. I sometimes get into a slump and then remember that I, the entrepreneur, can produce and conquer….I call up my umph and with the rainy weather we have here in NY daily, I almost forgot that. Today, I am will full umph. Keep your tips coming, they truly help me remember why I do what I do.
Thanks Gayle! Sorry about the raining Spring you are having, but think of the beautiful flowers it will bring. I am glad I can keep you motivated and thinking in the right directions with my little reminders. Have a triumph-filled day!
