Spring Up New Growth in Your Business

Tip of the Week – May 11, 2011

It’s spring!  For those of you who have endured a really difficult winter, I’m sure you are looking forward to a breath of fresh air with spring.  Spring is the season of new growth, which brings to mind the question — what are you doing right now to attract new growth in your business?

It’s really easy to just get into the mode of “going with the flow” when it comes to your networking. But perhaps it’s time to shake things up a bit.

  • When was the last time you sought to build relationships with the key influencers in your niche?
  • What are you doing to stay ahead of the curve in your market, to bring the latest and greatest information to your audience?
  • How much time are you devoting to building engagement with your social media contacts?
  • How long has it been since you updated your profiles?

Just because your focus might be shifting to family summer plans and warm weather activities, don’t allow yourself to lose sight of the big picture.  Being the top dog in your niche is not about maintaining, it’s about regularly innovating.  So I challenge you to consider what you can do right now to breathe some new networking life into your business that could lead to some lucrative connections.

I’m always looking for opportunities to expand my network through partnerships, and am so excited about the ideas that are flowing from my connections with our Advisory of Women Entrepreneurs.  If you’ve got something up your sleeve, and think that by merging forces we could do amazing things for women, don’t be shy, give me a shout.

    Dear Shannon,

I’ve only been following you for a short while, but am quite impressed by your philosophy and your Twitter presence! I hope that we will be able to do some amazing things for women together, as you state in this posting.

I help women solopreneurs get over “office overwhelm,” regain a sense of control over their workday, improve their productivity, and find more time to spend with family and friends outside work. I am giving a workshop on “Getting over Overwhelm” at the 360° Entrepreneurship Summit in Malmö, Sweden in September.

Please visit my site (http://understandingtimemanagement.com)and let me know if you see any areas where we might be able to work together.

    All the best,
    Monique

Hello Dr. Monique! Thanks so much for reaching out and saying hi. 🙂 I am happy to know that you enjoy the content I am providing, and I think what you are doing for women is greatly needed. And you get to train women from Paris — can’t beat that! Are you a member of my Advisory of Women Entrepreneurs community? If you are, it would be great to get you on the schedule for a Spotlight interview. I am taking appointments for postings in September. I am very interested in getting to know you better, and look forward to seeing how we might work together. I will reach out to you directly via email too. Cheers!
